DJ Legatron Prime - January 2026
For the month of January, and to start off the year, we would like to turn the spotlight over to Dj Legatron prime (@Legatronprime) as our featured artist highlight. Legs says that she has always been creative as a child but didn’t feel as though she had the support around her. She placed herself in gifted classes in elementary school so that she could feed that desire. She also says that music is always been around her life in something that she continuously would gravitate to. It wasn’t until college that she was really able to build upon which she wanted to do creatively. She would initially major in pre-veterinary medicine, but would change that to fashion, merchandising and styling. She has a passion for clothing and styling, so this was some thing that the universe moved her towards. She would see flyers and other interest during school. She credits having a great group of friends that would push her creativity and keep her thinking about other interests.
This was how music and DJing came about. One of her friends had a turntable and Pete, her interest in learning how to use it. She would often see that the realm of being a disc jockey, was mainly males, so stepping into that was different for her. At first she would just take time to learn the craft until she was able to DJ with confidence. It wasn’t until graduating college where she would pick up more gigs and have the time to go back-and-forth from the city to Baton Rouge. This was also when she would welcome her child so picking up another responsibility was some thing that would drive her passion. This is also one of her main inspirations as everything that she does is for her daughter. Legs says that her former residency at the dragons den “Primetime” best described her as an artist. “It encapsulates the energy and vibes that I felt when I first heard some of the songs that I played.” “Being able to create a space of like-minded people that resonate with the vibe that I’m creating best describes me”. She has had partnerships and collaborations with brands, such as Abstract Nola, Apple Music, and Saint Heron to name a few.
Looking forward, Legs says that she is always thinking ahead when it comes to her goals as it’s similar to the mindset of a Dj. “The moment that I’m in is already something that I planned.” If you are looking to learn more about Legs and catch one her sets you can follow her on instagram.
